Due to the amount of time my previous site took up I have decided to run a joint blog to run alongside the existing one.

This was due to being done previously in notepad, no fancy web authoring software - just notepad and a lot of time.

I have also seen an increase in requests and have decided to post the email requests for family history submissions in a seperate page - the contact page will be ammended to show this.

Hopefully it will all work ok but once more please remember this is a personal project and input from visitors relating to information on the town is highly recomended to help other visitors.

Cambs Army Cadet Force
The Chatteris detachment is always on the lookout for new recruits aged between 12 (must be year 8) to 18. You will have opportunities to take part in adventurous training which could include mountaineering, mountain biking, canoeing, sub aqua activities, archery, swimming, football and many other activities. You will be given opportunities to learn first aid, shooting skills, camp craft, orienteering (map-reading) and go on weekend camps, mixing with other cadets in Cambridgeshire. A two week annual camp is also available.
All cadets will have 24 hour supervision when on camp with qualified instructors-all staff have been police checked. For furthur information please contact C/SGT N.P.Grange at The Army Cadet Training centre, New Road, Chatteris. (Opposite cemetery) Parade Times 7.00pm - 9.00pm every Wednesday

Manea Silver Band
A local brass band offering wide variety of Musical Entertainment including Programmes suitable for Concerts, Church Services, Residential and Care Homes as well as lighter selections for Gala Days, Weddings, Open Days and Nostalgia Nights !

Cromwell Community College
This was established in 1938 and caters for secondary education as well as being the focal point for much of the affiliated socities that use it's facilities. As it's name suggests it is not reserved for the use of the town but also accepts students from neighboring villages such as Doddington, Wimblington, Manea etc.

The local library for Chatteris is located at 2 Furrowfields Road, Chatteris, Cambs, PE16 6DY.
As well as the normal Junior and Adult collection there are also facilities for accesing the Internet, a new computer system has been installed, photocopying, fax and video and spoken word cassettes.They may be contacted on 01354 692485
